I am proud to welcome the launch of a new Rebate, announced to safeguard small businesses in Western Australia.
The WA Small Business Resilience Program - CCTV Rebate aims to empower WA small businesses to take a proactive approach to crime prevention. It will assist small businesses to purchase and fund licensed installation of new quality internal CCTV Systems to help deter crimes including theft, vandalism, break ins and staff assaults.
The Rebate will provide up to 50 per cent, or $2,000 per property, to help eligible businesses purchase and install new or upgraded CCTV systems to protect their premises and staff.
The SBDC is proud to offer this rebate and will be partnering with Crime Stoppers WA to ensure that all applicants are provided with the best possible advice about protecting their business and staff from the impacts of crime.
Small Businesses contribute $87 billion to our state each year and employ more than half a million Western Australians. But their contribution is so much greater than their economic impact.
Our retail and customer-facing small businesses are some of the most visible and vulnerable to retail crime in our shopping centres and local streets, from our local newsagencies to cafés and speciality stores. This program demonstrates the importance of high quality, modern CCTV Systems to help keep them safe and preserve evidence.
This practical rebate will not only help the successful applicants, but it will also build the WA Police Cam-Map security network to provide increased crime prevention and safety for everyone.
If you are a WA small business owner, I strongly encourage you to check the eligibility criteria at www.smallbusiness.wa.gov.au/cctv, and register to be notified when applications open.
