METRONET is the single largest investment in public transport ever made in Perth.
The program will create approximately 72 kilometres of new passenger rail and up to 18 new stations. It will also create hundreds of local jobs and opportunities for small businesses to contribute to the phases of each project.

With stage one already well underway with seven projects in construction, the WA Government has created a construction business register to allow companies who are interested in working on METRONET projects to list their capabilities.
The register is an opportunity for major construction companies to connect with local businesses. The list of businesses is provided to successful METRONET tenderers when contracts are awarded, enabling them to subcontract work to local companies.
Categories of construction in the register include:
- Civil Construction
- Buildings & Structures Construction
- Rail Systems
- Rail Engineering
- Project Management
- Engineering Design
- Surveying
- Other
METRONET has opportunities for a wide range of businesses and suppliers, and creative or other industries are also encouraged to list their services on the register, using the ‘other’ category.
